I made this to use in assembly so children would have an idea of where the whole St Valentine’s celebration came from. You could just as easily use on IWB in class. I make no claims for authenticity, this is info I gleaned from internet searches and made into a very basic story for younger children. Hope it’s useful. updated with spelling corrected oops!

Introduction to super hero week. What makes them special? Word document gives background information. This is a fantastic topic for getting boys into recording. I made Super Hero words as a phonics activity and for fun. You can print off the pages, laminate and you've got a book. I downloaded Super hero theme music too. Ask your children to tidy the classroom like Power Rangers, crank up the volume, the results will amaze you!

Sometimes it's hard to think of different sand activities so I wanted an easy reference on hand. I also wanted it to inform and/or support observers and students so they would know the kind of learning opportunities 'sand play&' offered across the areas of learning. I didn&';t want it to be a lengthy document just practical. I'm doing another on water play and builders tray activities and would appreciate any feedback.

I made this years ago for use in Year 1 during a plant/growing topic. Children can predict verbally or write down before you click to reveal the answer. Its probably too long for early years ,I'd edit a lot out but might fill a little story space.

The activity could be adapted for any keystage really and include a greater variety of Black History makers.
