This is a step by step guide to composing rhythms and melodies. Pupils with no knowledge of notation can compose and notate 8 bar melodies in a short time. This is the platform from which to progress to be competent composers. The 60 slide presentation includes 31 scored musical examples and 7 audio excerpts. This is not a prescriptive guide.
