A classroom presentation exploring the principles of religious literacy as presented by the Harvard Divinity school https://rpl.hds.harvard.edu/what-we-do/our-approach/core-principles A useful resource to introduce a non devotional approach to the study of World Religions, using the principles of religious literacy as articulated by Dr. Diane L. Moore and adopted by the American Academy of Religion. Presentation includes a video that originally appeared as part of the HarvardX course Religious Literacy: Traditions and Scriptures. Students will watch the video and outline the common misunderstandings people have about religions and explain the correct understanding. Students will then apply their understanding of these principles by considering real world examples.

This four-lesson sequence launches the Protest and Change focused study. It moves from the big picture (what protest is and whether it works) into each case study through source work, and ends with a comparative synthesis built around the four key concepts of the new course: causes and effects, continuity and change, perspectives, and significance. Each lesson is written for a 60–90 minute block and can be stretched across two shorter periods. Paper 1 skills (source comprehension, analysis of value and limitation, comparison, and synthesis into an argument) are embedded from the start rather than saved for exam season.
