These are the resources I've created to teach Amelie Poulain to my yr13. I've included a few good exercices I've found here (thanks for sharing). Supporting videos are attached too.
I've used this workbook to teach La Haine to my Yr 13 class (we use the Welsh board).
This workbook contain some exercises and resources I've found here (thanks to all for sharing) and on the web and most of my own. I've done my best to acknowledge all the resources used and apologies if I've missed any. I'm also enclosing the videos to support the exercises in the workbook.
This is a good end of year game to revise any topic. It can also be used as a starter or a revision aid (file dart 7 for yr 7, dart 8 for yr 8, etc...). To play this game you need a dart board (bought mine last week at the local pound shop!). Volunteers throw a ball / dart and must answer a question of the same colour. I tried it today and it worked pretty well. the questions are colour-coded (levels of difficulty / topics / tenses). The slides are easy to adapt, just type in your own questions.
This unit of work is specific to Eduqas’s Theme 4 covering France under the occupation years, life in France and the resistance.
This pack contains overall notes, recap notes, spidergram with the main ideas in this unit, key dates and reading and listening exercises (with audio / videos) on:
1 - Le contexte historique
2 - La vie sous l’occupation
3 - La collaboration
4 - La Résistance
5 - La Libération
I've used this worksheet (and accompanying Powerpoint file) with my yr 10 and 11 classes. The aim of this exercise is to identify the good grammatical elements in the texts (and what's missing) and try to improve the quality and phrasing of both texts.
Ideal to use with an interactive white board to annotate and colour the grammar elements
A selection of 4 grammar mats to be used as revision aid for KS3 (also useful for KS4). They can be printed in colours, back to back and laminated. I normally leave them on the tables for the pupils to have a look at , it keeps them busy before we start the lesson and are especially useful to revise tenses.
I've created this resource to teach the perfect tense with être to my year 8. They were already familiar with the concept 'je suis + verbs of movement' and I used a video from youtube as a lesson starter to introduce more verbs taking être in the past. Please point out to your pupils that in the video mourrir should be spelt mourir! The video can be found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbaOC_8u0fA if the hyperlink doesn't work.
this is a list of questions asked by visiting examiners conducting the 2nd part of the A2 speaking exam (exposé). Useful for mocks and revision.
The films are: Amélie, Lucie Aubrac, La haine, Je vais bien ne t'en fais pas, 3 couleurs bleu.
Provide dictionaries to pupils and ask them to write and translate any 16 words relevant to young people, smoking and health. They watch the report and tick the words they identify in the video.
For GCSE classes I always have extension questions (need to play and repeat the relevant passages in the video).
