Pythagoras and Trigonometry Revision

(6)
I created this resource to help clarify to my Y11s when they should use either Pythagoras' Theorem, SOH CAH TOA, Sine Rule and Cosine Rule. Slides 8 and 9 are to be used as the handout on A3 paper where students annotate the &'Things to Remember&'; and lay out the working for the modelled examples as you teach it to the class. Students then use the back of the handout to practise what they've covered with Extension questions provided on Slide 10 for those who finish early or need to be stretched further.

Algebraic Fractions

(8)
This tutorial covers a wide variety of skills needed for algebraic fractions. The starter begins with basic factorising starting at Grade D and moving to Grade B which I did using whiteboards. The main part of the lesson starts with simplifying algebraic fractions then writing them as one single fraction and finally sovling algebraic fractions. The class notes worksheet is to be used for pupils to do their working out and provide themselves with hints. The back of the worksheet has a varitey of questions to practise with a marking scheme to check their answers.

This presentation begins with solving basic equations at Grade D and ends with A* style questions. It can be used as one lesson for a higher ability class or broken into parts for a lower ability class.

GCSE Revision Flash Cards

(6)
These documents contain a variety of typical exam style questions to help students either move from a D to a C or a C to a B (or above). The idea is to give each student a copy of the questions and then have them put one question on a flash card with any helpful notes, methods, key words and also fully worked example. Students can then refer back to these cards for easy and quick revision.
