Whole school Numeracy

During tutor time, I have the task of producing numeracy, this happens twice a month on a Tuesday with the Litaracy the other Tuesdays, I wanted to produce “real life” situations and not just an extention to maths. I recently moved house and as a result this gave me the ideas. I have a student working party who are working on more bespoke topics for each year group, however, the ones here at the moment are being rolled out across Y7-10. These are still a work in progress and more will be added. Each topic lasts for 2-3 sessions. I do a live teams meeting at the start of the sessions and the sessions last 30mins. The first live session is to introduce the topic which usually lasts 15-20mins. It also contains a live draw! Each topic has a tear off slip which students answer a question and post in a letter box in their Year office. The prize is a £5.00 amazon voucher. 1 prize per year group. Some questions relate to previous booklets so these need to be kept safe in the tutor room.
