What the sessions deliver

Honest, candid discussions from senior voices in safeguarding today.

From insights through to application, these sessions bring together decades of experience to reflect on the key challenges schools and trusts face today, how they have responded and changes they would like to see. Discussions are steered according to this year’s Safeguarding Awareness Week theme: from compliance to culture: building a proactive safeguarding future.

Recorded in London, UK on 5 May 2026.

  • Session 1: From compliance to culture: what the 2026 safeguarding survey and report findings tell us

A focused discussion unpacking what the latest safeguarding data is really telling us; including where schools are making progress, where gaps remain, and why consistent practice continues to be a challenge.

    This session explores:

    • the gap between recognising concerns and acting consistently
    • where safeguarding culture is strongest and where it is not yet embedded
    • the role of leadership, governance and staff confidence
  • Session 2: Putting culture into practice: what proactive safeguarding looks like in real schools in 2026

A practical, experience-led conversation on what it takes to move beyond compliance and embed safeguarding into everyday practice.

    This session explores:

    • how organisations are building consistency across staff
    • what is genuinely improving reporting culture
    • how schools and trusts are moving toward earlier, more proactive intervention
