Ratio & Algebra KS3

(2)
One of the consequences of the new curriculum having to have more questions mixing up topics and giving ratio and proportion its own strand seems to be GCSE questions that use ratio and algebra together. With this in mind I tried to make a worksheet where ratio and algebra were used in the same question that was accessible to KS3.

SUVAT - Kinematics Practice - No frills

(1)
Some example/problem pair questions I’ve made to practice using the kinematics equations for GCSE Maths. The pupils don’t need to remember the equations for GCSE Maths but they are expected to be able to use them. First three slides are substitution into the equations and then a couple of changing the subject slides. Suitable for Foundation and Higher. Examples for you to do on one side, questions for the pupils on the other. On notebook file click on square to reveal answer to pupil questions. I’ve only introduced units after a couple of examples each time. No contextual questions, just the maths. If you spot any errors - please do say.

Laws Of Indices - Going Backwards

(2)
An attempt at a backwards laws of indices sheet. Questions get tougher going to the right (having to deal with negatives) and going down (increasingly complex terms). I wrote it as a consolidation exercise for KS4 middle ability. However have used it as extension for high attaining KS3 as well.

Formula Revision Foundation

(1)
A set of 6 simple formula recall tests. Foundation level. With answer slides. Along with these I made sets of cards with 4 questions on to practice using the formulae. I laminated these and let the pupils choose which one to do. Answers to these are also on the Formula Test and Answers files. The Formula Test And Answers notebook file has links to the various answer slides along with links to the original question cards. Question cards A to F are a mix of stuff. Question cards G to J are my first attempt at making some SSDD questions. I’ve been adding to it as I go along, so there may be more to come. I’ve exported the main Formula Test And Answers to pdf for those who don’t have access to Smart notebook - links don’t work on that though. If you see any errors please feel free to say in the comments.
