Year 4 lesson on co-ordinates done in a fun and engaging way as ‘secret agent co-ordinate training’ with missions for the children to complete, infiltrating a pirate ring to crack a secret code to a treasure chest! I used the lesson for a job interview and was successful with fantastic feedback regarding this lesson! The class were a lower ability Year 4 class but this resource could easily be adapted to fit any ability year 4 class or even a more able year 3. National curriculum objectives covered; -describe positions on a 2-D grid as coordinates in the first quadrant -plot specified points and draw sides to complete a given polygon

This is a sheet I created for a Year 3 class (easily adapted for older or younger children) with instructions to create a mathematical board game. I used this for the last lesson of the year and the children loved it.

An easy to follow recipe for carrot cookies using ingredients that would have been available during WW2 when rationing was happening. The recipe is true to original recipes that people used at the time and is a fantastic way to link History with cookery/DT/food technology and bring rationing to life for the children. We did this in small groups and each child got to taste their cookie once it was cooked. They are surprisingly delicious!

A simple activity, perfect for EYFS or KS1 children who are just grasping the idea of rhyming words. The resource requires children to come up with a word that rhymes with the given one (for EYFS children this should be done verbally with the teacher reading them the word and writing down their response for them). Evidence of EYFS goals: 30 to 50 months- Enjoys rhyming and rhythmic activities/Recognises rhythm in spoken words 40 to 60+ months- Continues a rhyming string

A colour by numbers style activity that requires children to find half of a number and colour it in the correct colour to make a picture. Appropriate for children in LSK2 but could easily be adapted with larger numbers for older children or lower numbers for younger children.

A simple template for children to use when planning/writing a letter. Template includes a teacher copy with information showing what should be written in each of the spaces. I made this fun summer challenge for the children to encourage they to spend as little time infornt of the TV/Ipad screen as possible over the summer. The challenge consists of a number of fun outdoor challenges for them to complete and collect evidence to shown me when school starts again. Easily adapted to fit any age group.
