Euro 2024 Unit with football commentary, mascot design and other activities - SAMPLE

Th full unit should last for around 8 lessons and would work across Key Stage 3 and 4 as well as the BGE and National 5 in Scotland. Whilst linked to Euro 2024, its focus is on developing English and literacy skills through:

Football commentary
Mascot design (presentation skills)
Match preview (descriptive writing)
Team song (creative writing)
A quiz (listening and speaking)
Extension activities (various)

It should appeal to football fans and non football fans equally. There are also a few additional activities at the end that could be used for extension. Pupils should only need their workbooks and something to write with.
