The point of these questions is to stimulate curiosity and to demonstrate that waves have some interesting properties. At an introductory stage you must leave many questions unanswered.

These examples are cliche and boring. Why would I be interested in how beats are formed or how ocean waves carry energy unless I already have a love of physics in which case a lesson just for "appetite" is a waste of time anyway. How about starting with questions like "what is the difference between tsunami and ocean waves?" or "how does a nuclear bomb kills?".
A great selection of simple wave experiments. Worth a look if you are after adding a little more practical work to lessons or adding a few quick demos on waves.
