Teach pupils about about kimono and traditional clothing and accesories in Japan using our short video and visual PowerPoint presentation. They will learn who wears kimono and why and see lots of examples of different types. For the main acivity, pupils design their own seasonal kimono using our worksheet. There is an option for older students to fold their design into an origami kimono.
The main lesson content is recommended for KS2 and KS3, educators can use the Design a Kimono worksheet as a standalone activity for KS1 and EYFS.
