This powerpoint will enable your students to fully explore the multi-layered interpretations of Louis MacNeice’s poem. There are several occasions for students to pause and reconsider the poem as new content is introduced to enable a deeper understanding of the style, themes and context. There is also a scaffolded comparison task for teachers teaching the IGCSE EDEXCEL English Literature course.
On average, the powerpoint takes two lessons to explore the poem, with plenty of opportunities for metacognition and dialogic teaching.
