In this topic, students learn to describe motion in terms of displacement, velocity, acceleration and time. There is only a limited discussion of the forces involved; kinematics is concerned with describing motion, while dynamics is concerned with explaining motion in terms of the forces acting.

The lesson plan comes from the Teaching Advancing Physics website. This is an excellent resource for teaching all specifications of A-level physics, although will need some tweaking in places. However, the link is to the front page of the IOP education section and the lesson plan only contains the learning activities and some suggestions to look forward towards the next topic. Use the link: http://tap.iop.org/mechanics/kinematics/204/page_46312.html and click forward for the next episode to help make this more clear.
