Use liquids of different densities and colors to make a Rainbow in a Cup. Students will explore density in this activity. Each layer of the rainbow is made of a sugar solution with a different density. They are layered from the densest on the bottom, to the least dense on the top. The colored sugar solutions are mixable, and layers will eventually bleed into each other.
