Seasons Odd One Out

A set of engaging discussion cards designed to deepen children’s understanding of the four seasons through reasoning, observation, and talk.

Each card shows a group of seasonal images or items, where one does not belong. Children are encouraged to identify the odd one out and, importantly, explain their thinking.

This resource supports the Year 1 science curriculum by helping children to:

Observe and describe seasonal changes
Recognise typical weather and features of each season
Build and use seasonal vocabulary
Develop reasoning and communication skills through talk
