IGCSE MATH CHAPTER 4 TEACHING RESOURCES

(0)
I’ve made printable worksheets for all 8 Chapter 4 lessons, with a teacher answer key to go with them. I didn’t rebuild the PowerPoint: the Chapter 4 deck I made earlier was built from this same book, so I’ve sent it again. Worksheets (Ch4_Student_Worksheets_Lessons_1-8.pdf): 16 A4 pages, exactly two per lesson. Lesson n is on pages 2n − 1 and 2n, so Lesson 3 is pages 5–6. Each worksheet uses the questions from that lesson’s slides, in the same order: Warm-up Explore, with tables to fill in and the charts from the slides redrawn We Do worked examples, with lines for copying the working Pair work (Partner A and B, then Together) Independent practice at Bronze, Silver and Gold Reflection: spot the mistake, a tick list of the success criteria, and red/amber/green boxes Exit ticket strip to cut off and hand in

A complete, ready-to-teach lesson PowerPoint covering Chapter 18: Curved Graphs for Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580/0980), Core and Extended. The deck is split into [X] fully planned 40-minute lessons, so you can open it and teach with no extra preparation. Topics covered: Drawing quadratic graphs (the parabola) Drawing reciprocal graphs (the hyperbola) Using graphs to solve quadratic equations Using graphs to solve simultaneous linear and non-linear equations Other non-linear graphs, including cubic and exponential graphs Finding the gradient of a curve by drawing a tangent Derived functions and differentiation (Extended) Every lesson follows the same clear structure: Warm-up or hook to engage students from the start Learning objectives and success criteria Explore task to build understanding Lesson content with clear explanations We Do: step-by-step worked examples You Do: pair work with peer checking You Do: independent practice at three differentiated levels Reflection and feedback Exit ticket to check understanding Features: slides, fully animated, with answers revealed on click Large, bold text that is readable from the back of the classroom Differentiated practice to support and stretch all learners Fully editable, so you can adapt it to your own classes Suitable for Year 10–11 (Grades 9–10) students studying IGCSE Mathematics, and useful for first teaching, revision or cover lessons. Keywords: IGCSE maths, Cambridge 0580, curved graphs, quadratic graphs, parabola, reciprocal graphs, hyperbola, cubic graphs, exponential graphs, gradient of a curve, tangent, differentiation, solving equations graphically, lesson PowerPoint, differentiated

IGCSE Maths 0580 Chapter 19 Symmetry complete lesson

Lessons: the 8 lessons follow the same order as your other chapters, each with the 2-minute exam-style question after the challenge slide. Line Symmetry Rotational Symmetry Symmetry in Three Dimensions Chords and the Centre Tangents from a Point The Angle in a Semicircle Angles at the Centre & Cyclic Quadrilaterals The Alternate Segment Theorem The diagrams on the slides (polygons with mirror lines, cuboid planes, chord, tangent and circle-theorem diagrams) are new drawings, not copies of the book’s figures. Many questions come from the book, and their answers match the answer key. Worksheets: 2 pages per lesson (16 pages) in matching blue, using the slide questions and including the exam question, plus a teacher answer key with the same layout. The circle questions are written out in words, so students sketch their own diagrams. As with Chapter 20, the 40-minute plan on each title slide doesn’t count the 2-minute exam question. IGCSE Maths 0580 Chapter 20 Histograms & Cumulative Frequency

The PowerPoint has 8 lessons of 40 minutes each, 90 slides in total, in the same order and with the same bold, large text as your other chapters. As in Chapter 13, each lesson has one extra exam-style question slide straight after the challenge slide. It has marks shown per part, and you click to reveal the mark scheme step by step. The lessons run from equal-width histograms, through frequency density and drawing and reading histograms with unequal widths, to cumulative frequency tables and curves, the median, quartiles and IQR, and percentiles. The worksheets are 2 pages per lesson (16 pages in all) and use the questions from the slides, including the exam-style question. Every “draw a histogram” or “draw a curve” question has a blank grid next to it for students to draw on. The answer key has the same layout with all the answers filled in. On the worksheets for Lessons 3 and 6, the text is slightly smaller (9.5pt) so the drawing grids still fit on 2 pages. The 40-minute lesson plan on each title slide doesn’t count the 2-minute exam question. You can take those 2 minutes from Reflection or Explore, or use the exam question as a starter for the next lesson.
