Argument on reading, sport and uniform

Half the class were arguing for or against reading and doing sport, half the class were arguing for or against school uniform. The ppt differentiates between fact, opinion and example and shows how each can bak up an opinion. I used this at the start of my lesson. There is also a sorting activity where the children were given sentences (cut up). They had to sort them into for or against. Then the children discussed what they thought, and used the writing frame to write up their argument.
