In this activity, students will examine the reign of King Henry VIII, focusing on how his personal desires for a male heir triggered England’s break from the Catholic Church and the establishment of the Church of England. They will also explore his six marriages, his ambitious building projects such as Hampton Court Palace and the Mary Rose, and the way his political and religious decisions reshaped the direction of English history well beyond his death in 1547.

It has 12 questions for students to answer, as well as a paragraph response section for them to demonstrate their understanding of the topic.
