This is the final unit in the series. It can stand alone but will be more effective if taken in conjunction with earlier titles. The rapid loss of rainforest in Sabah has immediate and future consequences. While this unit concentrates on the rehabilitation of 2 animals the worksheet indicates that there are several broader issues to consider. In terms of rainforest removal those suggesting that this complex community of plants can somehow be replanted have not understood the series of plant successions that have, through time, developed the rainforest. Students need to be informed about these global issues because the loss of rainforest is a global issue. Join in the debate and provide opportunities for students to think through issues. It may be that earlier units in this series will need to be visited or revisited.
