Fun activity game which I've used when teaching long multiplication.Game can be played in pairs or as a whole class game e.g. boys v girls, where students work out the answer on mini-whiteboards. Student chooses a sum and then works out the answer. If correct they colour in the square or place their counter on the square. If it's incorrect and partner has it correct then the partner can colour it and now it's also partner's turn. Winner is first to get 4 in a row (horizontally/vertically or diagonally). Students are allowed calculator to check the answer, when game is played in pairs, or teacher can check the answer.

Question Card

I've used these small laminated cards to encourage pupils to answer questions. Small laminated card used to encourage pupils to answer questions in class. Teacher asks a question and the pupil who answers the question will receive a card. Now for the next question a different pupil has to answer a question. All pupils should strive to have a question card by the end of the lesson. On their way out, at the end of the lesson, the pupils return the cards. Picture of a pupil, raising hand, on one side and the other side has the words " I've answered a question in today's lesson". Instead of a picture some cards will have "raffle ticket" written on or you can have "prize" written on it. If they get this card they either get a raffle ticket or a prize.
