This resource is designed for the younger pupils in primary schools and introduces both the concept of a character strength and an amazing person to demonstrate that strength.

In this resource we use the story of Mahatma Gandhi to explore the strength of empathy.

Pupils are asked to think about and develop empathy through the process of personal reflection, group discussion and a Wellbeing Workout activity.

These questions are explored:
What is empathy and how did it feature in the life of Mahatma Gandhi? How can empathy help you? How can you developing empathy help other people? How does developing empathy support wellbeing.
