Do you know the real story behind Humpty Dumpty? Not many people do; it was actually the nickname for a cannon during the English Civil War.

This is a simple text because I prefer to tell the story orally and the children can then use the sheet to refer to when they're working, you could even ask them to take notes. Feel free to 'embellish' it if you so desire!

There are three worksheets here: HA - higher achievers, OT - on target and UA - underachievers which are all differentiated mainly by the ratio of text to images and the amount that I feel each group can write (expectations). All the children have to do is fill in the blanks with either text or images.

There is also a set of labels that I used when displaying the children's work.

I hope you enjoy as much as we did.

This is free to download, but PLEASE.... review it for me - these resources have taken hours to create.

Many thanks,
