• This teaching resource explains the work of Dr Nancy Clark, a social justice researcher at the University of Victoria, Canada. She is working with Syrian refugee men to explore their experiences of employment and mental health in Canada through the power of photography.

• This resource also contains interviews with researchers and Syrian refugees in the team. If your students have questions for the team, they can send them online. All they need to do is to go to the article online (see the Futurum link below), scroll down to the end and type in the question(s). Nancy and the team will reply!

• The activity sheet provides ‘talking points’ (based on Bloom’s Taxonomy) to prompt students to reflect on Nancy’s research and challenges them to conduct their own photovoice activity using photography to explore social justice issues.
