Literary Techniques Class Test - 1st Year

This two-page class test assesses students’ understanding of key literary techniques, including simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia, hyperbole and imagery.

Students are asked to:
• Write clear definitions of each technique
• Identify techniques used in example sentences
• Create their own original examples of simile, metaphor, personification and hyperbole

The test is marked out of 40 and is ideal for consolidating learning after completing the Literary Skills Series workbook 1.
