A powerpoint presentation resource for a lesson in which students were give a pre-selected advert from various newspapers/magazines and asked How did the audience feel looking at the advert. The advert was used as a model. Students were then encouraged to annotate their own copy, as in the example. After students had looked at theirs, we came up with a list together on the whiteboard, after this had been recorded, I revealed the my list. Students felt super smart as they had found the answers before they really knew the ‘question’. Great way to develop low/weak ability confidence.

I've used this PPT a number of times and it's very effective. I use an extension activity, providing another picture stimulus and inviting students (in pairs) to use as many presentational devices as they can to create, and then share, their own persuasive text. Grateful for this contribution.
