Tutor Time Activities- Thought of the Week

Tutor Time Activities- Thought of the Week

1 power point per week of the half term. October- December (including a Christmas special!). Please follow this link for Half Term 1- Sep- October https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/tutor-time-activities-thought-of-the-week-11716356# Each follows the same pattern. A "thought of the week" which is a quote from someone they will know (no Buddha/Shakespeare type quotes, more like Dumbeldore, Jay Z, Steve Jobs etc.) Followed by a slide that gives the week in History, I try to make this as cross curricular as possible. Planned for 15 minute sessions to contribute to Schools development of SMSC. Please leave feedback.

Rules for children / reminders for adults in Forest School

Rules for children / reminders for adults in Forest School

A simple list of rules to remind children about when playing in our woodland, it is also a check list for adults to ensure children's safety in the woodland. We remind children about these every time we enter the woods so they do it without even realising.

School Streets Audit - real world road safety learning around school

School Streets Audit - real world road safety learning around school

This lesson involves discussion in the classroom, followed by walks following routes in the immediate school area, then further discussion in the classroom. The lesson is suitable for all classes, from Nursery to Primary 7, with discussions modified according to the year taught. The school streets audit could be carried out by one class or year group. Alternatively, each class within the school could take a route from the school to involve the whole school in conducting an audit. There are a number of objectives relevant to carrying out the School Streets Audit: • To learn about road safety in a real-world context • To contribute evidence to a School Travel Plan • To identify areas where safety could be improved by infrastructure (speed bumps, double yellow lines, crossings, etc) in order to request such improvements from the Local Authority.

Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia : A Guide to School Policy

Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia : A Guide to School Policy

This booklet has been produced based on research into young people with sickle cell disorder in schools in England. Section 100 of the 2014 Children and Families Act in England places a duty on the appropriate school authority (for example, board of governors or proprietor), who must make arrangements for supporting pupils at the school with medical conditions. Pupils with sickle cell disorder or thalassaemia come under this legislation and guidance.
