Here's a topic for debate. The Arctic walrus is observed in its natural habitat - the very cold waters of the Arctic. Its dependence upon floating ice as essential platforms for its search for essential food is indicated. Via maps the trend of ice coverage over time is shown. The future outlook for the walrus is uncertain when the issue of global warming is considered. You can debate this question. Several pages containing questions are given as attachments. You might also consider developing posters which have the theme of "SAVING THE ARCTIC WALRUS" which provide visual materials and a list of what could be done. It's a unit where cold hard facts are required. This can be used as a walrus interest study at primary levels. The more complex issues can be covered in junior/middle secondary levels.
