COVID -19 is globally the best known new phrase of 2020-2021. It represents the pandemic that has global implications. This unit looks at a few impacts in Australia. Maps show the global spread and the Australian impact.Globally the virus has had varying degrees and rates if infection. In comparison Australian impacts have been less but the potential for spread has persisted. The 3 examples of interrupted travel indicate frustrations at a family level. Beyond this and of far greater significance are the steps taken to recognise, contain and deal with future outbreaks. The attachments are designed for student activity and response in either an on-screen class activity or as a student response in class or at home by providing attachment copies. COVID-19 isn’t an enjoyable topic but it is a present and persistent issue.
