A collection of tasks for a short scheme of work to provide students with experience of using sources to identify and answer historical questions. Students first order the Bayeux tapestry (either with or without the aid of translations of the Latin) before using the Anglo Saxon Chronicles to answer the question of why Harold wasn’t ready to defend England. This then leads to discussions of how William came to win at Hastings. Ideal as a lead-up to essay-writing in Year 7!
