A 10 question test on Calculations with ratio, comprising: 5 questions on procedural calculations; 3 questions on reasoning and communicating mathematically; and 2 problem solving questions. At the end of the test there is an extension activity which will allow more able students to stretch themselves. This resource is ideal for either formative or summative assessment and can be used in lesson time as a topic assessment, starter or plenary activity or for homework or revision.

Equivalent ratios:
Find the ratio of quantities in the form a : b and simplify.
Find the ratio of quantities in the form 1 : n.
Division in a given ratio:
Split a quantity into two parts given the ratio of the parts.
Split a quantity into three or more parts given the ratio of the parts.
Express the division of a quantity into two parts as a ratio.
Calculate one quantity from another, given the ratio of the two quantities.
Ratios and fractions: interpret a ratio of two parts as a fraction of a whole.
Solve simple ratio and proportion problems.
Understand the relationship between ratio and linear functions.
