I created this for my Year 2 class during the school closures. Chn are asked if they know what a simile is and are given a definition with examples. Then they identify similes from a story extract and write them in their book.
After, a simile making formula is provided showing several examples of how to build up to a simile step by step 1. Adjective 2. add like/as __ as 3. add a noun 4. add a subject. Then chn use this order and an adjectives list to make their own. Experts add a subject.
Finally chn have pictures to make up their own similes as an extension/challenge.

Thanks for this activity, simple and easy to teach my EALD kids. Cheers.
