Physics Practical Manual, a complete guide for practical and examination (IGCSE and WASSCE)
Tame physics
Physics is one of the simplest subjects. But it is surprising that it still gives student tough time to
understand. For this reason, the teachers of the subject find a hard time teaching the subject.
Taming physics has become a big mountain to overcome for students and teachers. The question
“How can I tame physics?” has given birth to this write up.
The boring physics can only become fun when it is done with practical. Yes, the theory is
important, but for easier comprehension the practical is most important.
This standard physics practical manual offers the solution. It gives the comprehensive guide
needed by students and teachers to tame physics for good. This manual fully meets the
requirements of students offering physics in the senior secondary schools system of education for
Nigeria and other West African countries. It covers all fields of practical physics examination for
the West African Senior School Certificate Examination and National Examination Council
(NECO). This edition of it also covers the practical physics for Cambridge International General
Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).
Every practical in this manual is given a corresponding title and aim which ensure that the
students know the reason why they are running the experiment. It is provided with the required
theory that explains the governing equations and laws. The procedure provides a comprehensive
guide. And what is required of the student in the results and analyses which aid the achievement
of the aim is clearly stated. After which the conclusion is drawn in alignment with the aim from
the analyses. Observations and precautions have been included to ensure accuracy of the result.
There is a thin line between knowledge and understanding. The theory gives knowledge and
practical gives the understanding. A simple comma can give an English sentence an entire
different meaning for instance “kill him not, let him go” and “kill him, not let him go”. Also
physics practical is a small aspect, but the most important one.
If you must tame physics then you can only do that with practical.
