This topic test focuses on Unit 1 L01 and Unit 1 L02 - there are lots of conversion questions. I used this test after covering the first two LOs. The test is one hour. I made students show working so that I can check their techniques even though the exam questions may not ask for workings. During learning stage, it will be useful. Sample solution is provided. Marks allocation are also included on the test paper but may not included on the space provided on the picture. The binary conversion approach may look long-winded but that was the approach shown on the text book and I decided to use the same conversion approach to help students remember. For multiple choice, it doesn't matter which approach they use. If show working is expected, I asked my students to follow the approach used in the text book, which was why the sample solution used that - if you are wondering why i chose a long-winded way.

This is the final PLC for the rO12. It’s a bit longer than the others, as it includes more info - not just as a PLC. Can also be used as a revision tool for the weaker students. My students use this PLC, when they make flash cards. A useful revision tool - personalised learning checklist for Edexcel GCSE Computer Science 9-1 Spec 2016. PLC is a tool recommended by Pixl for sixth form learning and I have decided to use a similar tool for my GCSE Computer Science curriculum delivery. My summer'17 results improved significantly after I gave PLC to my students. You can print the spec which I did in the previous year but students can't see through mountains of text. I have better learning conversation with my student where they can pinpoint easily the areas they are not feeling so secure which I can then identify. More user-friendly than if you were to print directly from the spec. There are additional prompts so that the students can see clearly what they need to know. A great tool for learning and revision. My students have found this personalised checklist very useful and my GCSE group has achieved a tremendous result, above national average for the subject and school average. With 59% A*-A, 86% A*-B, 100% A*-C, I truly believe that this PLC helps. I have made PLCs using similar format for another qualification and so far, have received more than 200 downloads. This Bingo Revision can be used for a revision workshop or revision lesson for Unit 2 Global Information (Cambridge Technicals IT Spec 2016). It covers topics for the overall unit 2, a bit of fun but reinforcing some keywords which students should know, nearer to the exam. It is mixed and assumed students have covered all topics. You can print up to 30 cards. Each page has two cards. Make sure you print single-sided. Play the tune using the tube link just before you start this bingo game. Course : Cambridge Technicals Level 3 IT Spec 2016. This work is set for year 11 into 12 as part of their transition work over the summer. It is meant to be a bit more interesting, I believe - rather than setting work based on Unit 1 Fundamentals of IT. The fact finding they complete for this transition work will be useful for Unit 3 Cyber Security. Most students chose to do presentation, even though I though the video news was more interesting. One student did a good leaflet, last year. This piece of work is easier to monitor as evidence. I do set additional summer work eg. on programming practice but it is harder to check, who's done what. This resource provides the key summaries (from 28 pages to 7 compact pages) of the Green IT handbook, which was a recommended read by OCR exam board for Green IT topic LO4.3 in the delivery guide for Unit 2 Global Information. Some examples of PHYour Flowers have been used (Jan19 case study). I am sharing with you what my students and I have used to prepare for this Cambridge Technicals L3 IT Unit 1 Fundamentals of IT. A reference on what needs to be covered (taken from the spec). This resource provides presentation on Green IT which could be used to teach Unit 2 Global Information LO 4.3 with specific additions to address Research Theme 5. It also includes the actions needed for legislations for marketing purposes which PH Your Flowers (case study for Jan19 Unit 2 exam). I teach this course and the current specification is the third specification version that I have taught for Cambridge Technicals Level 3 (the first one was called Cambridge Nationals Level 3…).
