In an attempt to make Western Classical Music relevant for my Year 9 students, I have developed a 12-lesson SOW where they will learn about the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods ALONGSIDE an ongoing composition task where they will take a pop song and change it into a Baroque chamber ensemble (think Bridgerton, without the copyright)! An 8x lesson SOW on Games Music based on the game ‘Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora’ - this game is current and relevant for young people without the high age rating! There are a lot of crossovers with film music so could be used interchangably. This is a fun revision resource to consolidate all subject content from Eduqas GCSE Music.
