This is an assembly to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day, all the videos needed for the assembly are attached. It is very moving, with a focus on not standing and watching whilst others are being bullied or suffering abuse.

These are a series of 41 lessons encompassing the whole of the specification for Edexcel’s 9-1 Crime and Punishment course. This resource contains both lessons, resources and assessments. These lessons are differentiated into higher, core and foundation resources to cater for high, middle, low or mixed ability classes. This unit focuses of the effects of the Treaty of Versailles, the Failure of the League of Nations, the rise of Hitler and the impact of appeasement. There are several opportunities for assessment and exam practice throughout. This unit works really well in Year 9 to prepare students for some of the themes and topics they might cover at GCSE. These lessons are all differentiated so can be taught to a high, middle, low or mixed ability group and contain a useful mixture of resources and tasks. Most lessons start with a retrieval stater to help consolidate knowledge. These lessons require no textbooks and are user friendly with all resources being numbered or at the end of each PowerPoint. Homework is also included and we use Flipped learning where students learn the information before coming to the lesson. If you do not wish to use these you can add these tasks to the lessons with very little fuss. However I do believe the scheme of work works much better doing them this way.

These are a series of lessons that teach students about the succession crisis of after Edward the Confessor’s death and the Battles between the three claimants to the throne. The scheme of work then teaches students about William’s problems in 1066 after the Battle of Hastings and how he then consolidated his power. The unit finishes with an assessment where students need to write an essay explaining ‘How William solved his problems and consolidated his power in England.’ These lessons are all differentiated so can be taught to a high, middle, low or mixed ability group and contain a useful mixture of resources and tasks. Most lessons start with a retrevial stater to help consolidate knowledge and prepare students for their final assessment. These lessons require no textbooks and are user friendly with all resources being numbered or at the end of each PowerPoint. Lesson 2 is a Baseline Assessment which is not included so this is why it is missing. Homework is also included and we use Flipped learning where students learn the information before coming to the lesson. If you do not wish to use these you can add these tasks to the lessons with very little fuss. However I do believe the scheme of work works much better doing them this way.

This is a Black History Month assembly that focuses on why we have black history month, so it takes a look at the national curriculum and its emphasis on white history and then how this happened with a focus on white Europeans being the victors and black and minorities being the losers. The assembly then goes on to discuss how to we recongnise black history effectively and go further than simply having a month dedicated to it. All slides have notes attached and it essentially could be delievered once you have read through the notes. Hope you enjoy!

These are a selection of historical quotes to generate thinking, inspire or promote hardworking and a growth mindset. I often may refer to some of them during lessons. These could form part of a display or I personally hang them from the ceiling or hang them on a washing line. All you need to do is print them out, laminate them and then hole punch them. An Ofsted inspector recently commented or how much they liked them and they have been praised by SLT on a number of occasions.

This is a full scheme of work for Hitler's rise to power and Weimar Germany in the years 1918-1933. All lessons are of an 'outstanding' or a 'good' standard and have been graded so in several lesson observations. These lessons have been taught by me for several years and I have used them to teach both Edexcel and AQA exam boards. As these lessons focus on content, historical skills and knowledge they can be used for any exam board or in any country. However, you will need to add your own exam practice and assessments that are related to the exam board that you use. These lessons use a mixture of activities and are focused upon discussion and independent learning. All lessons are differentiated and include challenge activities to stretch more able students. All the resources are attached, organised using a number system, and require no additional textbooks, therefore they can be easily applied and used straight away.

These are a couple of lessons on the gunpowder plot, this can be used to help students understand the events surrounding bonfire night, or help to build an understanding of the events in preparation for GCSE study of crime and punishment. All lessons have clear outcomes, objectives and are differentiated. There are clear tasks for higher learners. If these lessons are executed effectively they could be graded as 'outstanding'. LA means less able, MA means more able.
