'The Chocolate Room' powerful descriptive writing. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl.
Children find golden tickets in their book and pretend they visit the 'Chocolate Room'. They describe what they did and felt using the 5 senses from watching a video and using role play. Good to up level writing with adjectives, verbs, adverbs, punctuation, openers, conjunctions and similes. A very fun and complete lesson with a model shown, pics for lower children and vocabulary mats. Used in Year 2 but the success criteria can be adapted for age group/ability. Potentially very good for observations.
