4. Funky Phonics: Tricky Words

Funky Phonics is a complete set of phonics planning and resources from Phase 2-6.

These resources were first used with a cohort of children who at the end of Year 1, were placed in the top 5% of schools in England, from the ‘Phonics Screening Check’.

This is section 4 of resources. It includes ‘tricky words’ that can be displayed in the classroom/at home. Words are in shapes, to support shape recognition. They can be hung on a ‘tricky word line’. There are also these resources available on TES:
