This is a worksheet to be given to a diverse ability group following investigating a candle. Pupils have looked at a candle flame and allowed it to play on the surface of a cold beaker. This worksheet has four levels that are identical except for their degree of closure. At the first level filling in the spaces will challenge even L5 pupils. At the lowest level the 'missing' words are traced over and allows access to dyslexic and ESL pupils. My experience is that pupils find these sheets highly motivating.
