Could the Treaty of Versailles be justified?

Lesson that considers the arguments for and against the Treaty of Versailles. 'Crocodile creek' starter task to remind pupils of the terms of the Treaty followed by a development activity where pupils analyse a cartoon that represents the popular German point of view at the time. Main task involves a card sort with pupils working in groups to evaluate the strongest arguments for and against before holding a class debate based around these arguments. Follow up with extended written task.
