Descriptive writing bundle

This bundle includes six lessons and was designed for a year 7, second set class as an introduction to descriptive writing. Students are introduced to the five senses, zooming in, sentence starters and variety, figurative language and extended metaphors. The first lesson involves a cold assessment, which students will return to in later lessons in order to demonstrate progression.

Students really enjoyed these lessons, particularly the figurative language matching activity, the sherbet lemon game and the extended metaphor lesson. The lessons were created with the AQA, language paper 2 specification in mind.
