This is a sample assessment I created for my students based on Section A of the new specification. The questions are adapted from previous assessments, and the texts are borrowed from the Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (I know it is not non-fiction, but I thought it worked well for this assessment) and Mountains of the Mind by Robert McFarlane. The mark scheme is mine, but inspired by Edexcel mark schemes.
