ESOL Entry 2 Present Simple lessons

Two lessons to teach and practice the present simple with Entry 2 ESOL classes. The first lesson covers the affirmative and the second covers the negative and interrogative forms.

The two lessons should last around 3 hours in total.

• Two starters on the parts of speech and the present simple.
• Slides to explain how to form the present simple in the affirmative, negative and interrogative forms.
• Mini whiteboard tasks to check understanding.
• Gap fill task on the present simple affirmative.
• “Tell me about” cards to get learners talking about their interests.
• A film description task to practice the present simple.
• Writing tasks on the negative and interrogative forms.
• Interview and writing task with questions.
• A team game on the present simple.
• A link to a Kahoot on the present simple.
