ppt to engage students in group work discussing heating and cooling. Demo's of balloons in hot water, ice and RT, thermal expansion of a ball and ring apparatus and the collapsing can. Uses PHET jar file on states of matter. Students create a poster of the first two demo's using particle theory. Review their ideas and then peer assess.
