Quick and simple RIC (Retrieval, Inference/Interpret and Choice) style guided reading task based on How To Train Your Dragon.
Session breakdown:
- Read though chapter 7 of the book as a class.
- Complete a close read (using close read symbols):
- a stick man for character description
- a tree for setting description
- a heart for anything they like
- underline unknown words (text mark meanings)
- circle high-level vocabulary
- wavy underline and write a question about that phrase - Answer the RIC questions.
