This was day one of covering "find fractional quantities linked to known multiplication facts." While I did talk about how multiplication links to division, I decided this was going to be too challenging a focus for the main task for my Year 3's and kept it very practical and division-focused.
I extended them by having those who could do it focus on writing their answer as a fraction and then deciding whether they could write their answer as another fraction ie; 4/8 or 1/2
