A complete lesson covering section 5.5.1.a and 5.5.3a-c of the OCR physics specification- our planetary neighbors and how to calculate interstellar distances.

It starts by introducing the key terms needed to describe the solar system including the difference between planet and dwarf planets and asteroids and comets. It then goes on to cover the various methods for measuring distances in space including light years and parsecs. This includes using stellar parallax and the equation p = 1/d to use arc seconds
