This could be extended into 4 lessons. Adaptable for KS1/KS2/KS3. Could be good for an observation as it is engaging. The first lesson children annotate features of the poem (in pairs perhaps), the second they practise writing lots of potential lines for their poem (but not in the poem structure yet), in the third lesson they write their poem in full and in the proper structure. Finally in the last lesson children can perform their poems. A single lesson plan, presentation, writing frame as well as pictures and vocabulary sheets are provided. Both the Word and PDF versions of the presentation are provided; download the much larger Word version if you want to edit it.
