This History Rocks! resource looks at ‘The shot that sparked a war’, as Gavrilo Princip assassinates Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
A fun differentiated learning resource with key words, activities and further research.
There are three levels of differentiation: the first level has just the questions. Level 2 has sentence starters. Level three has sentence starters and a number of hints, ensuring that there is a level for each pupil. All pupils answer the **Understanding **questions which will give them a basic understanding of the topic. The Historical Enquiry questions extend them more and require pupils to expand and explain their thinking; the answers are subjective. There is also a Creative Work section where they can demonstrate their learning and understanding in a creative manner.
Also included is a newspaper template to report on the event as well as a guideline that will help give ideas on what to put on the front page.
Done with a splash of humour that your pupils will enjoy.
