London Docklands Factfile Scheme of Work

(0)
This resource is a two week writing cycle, where children will write a fact file (over the two weeks) about the history of London Docklands. This is a two week cycle of writing, where there are reading and writing days. The reading days are to help practise the reading skill, whilst learning about grammar activity. The reading activity is creative and helps generate ideas for the next day. The writing day reviews the grammar and helps generate the writing for the finished published piece. In this scheme of work, I have included a two week cycle plan, the smart boards are provided alongside a two week writing plan. It will also have a WAGOLL (what a good one looks like) and resources for working towards children.

The final lesson of 5 lessons to revise the third section of the SATS reading papers. This section of the paper is usually harder with more inference based questions. Each lesson uses different reading skills and has an activity for children to practise. This last section focuses on the reading skill of inference. It will look at one more of the three mark questions in the paper, but also allows children to practise the one mark inference questions. Children are required to ‘read between the lines’ within this piece of text; a hard skill for some. This lesson includes art to help generate those thoughts.
